A wagon factory was also promised..That wont materialise,I think
i saw an add in the hindu (may be a month / 45 days back) an invitaton for bid (IFB) for the palakkad coach factory in ppp mode.
if and when it materialises we can expect newer coaches for SR.

There was a proposal to start ELS @ ERS before at the time of MoSR Velu. Same time our diesel loco shed people protest against it, and Velu used this matter and start RPM instead of ERS. Velu was a TN railway minister instead of MoSR. SRR have enough space to start a loco shed instead of ERS, and there was a steam engine loco shed before
