Is that forwarded IRCTC's reservation confirmation SMS valid? Has somebody traveled with that?

dont no if valid or not ..but i have traveled on it several no of times ..first thing tte never checked the sms they only checked the id card ..or at the most asked for the pnr number ...
people have travelled without hassles...

I think, the rules are clear and SMS sent by IRCTC is valid proof for boarding the train.Infact many at time when i log in to irctc website, and there in that page, a message keeps on popping, asking to refrain from taking printouts of our ticket to reduce cutting of trees, and encourages for SMS based proof.
TTR never checks mobile. They will just ask for PNR number if you show the mobile. If he says that forward message is not valid, thn 50rs will solve the pblm. Fine of 50rs for travelling without eticket or SMS.
Else, just save the number from which you got message as MD-IRCTCi ;)
