KR DOUBLING & ELECTRIFICATION:

#KR has been in the news lately when they disclosed their plans for #Doubling & #Electrification of Konkan Railway. The salient features are as under:

The project survey will be completed in 1 month from date. So max by Nov end we will be able to get in depth details of the project.

2. The cost of Doubling will be Rs. 15000 crore or approx. Rs. 20 crore per km.

3. The cost of Electrification will be Rs. 600 crore

4. The project is expected to get completed in say 4 to 5 years max.

5. The govt will have to write off Rs. 3000 crore loss of KR and give it a big push so that this project can be started.
