Launching of IRCTC E-Wallet Scheme to book rail tickets easily.‏
IRCTC has launched an easier way to book rail tickets. Now user can book ticket against advance money kept with IRCTC.
IRCTC brings to you a new scheme namely IRCTC E-Wallet where user can deposit money in advance with IRCTC and user can use E-Wallet as a payment option along with other payment options available on IRCTC for paying money at the time of booking tickets.

4. Dependency on a specific bank is reduced, as when any of the provided banks go offline, you can still book tickets from your E-Wallet account.
Salient features of IRCTC E-Wallet are:
1. User Authentication: IRCTC E-Wallet user will be verified and authenticated through their PAN card number in an Online Verification Process.
2. Secure Access: IRCTC offers a secure booking through E-Wallet by providing Transaction Password/ PIN Number that is required to be entered for every booking done through E-wallet.
3. Complete History: User is provided with options to view Transaction history, Payment History & change transaction password.
4. Easy Refund: In case of ticket cancellation the due refund will be credited to your E-Wallet Account next day.
6 Easy steps to register and book ticket through IRCTC E-Wallet
1. Login to IRCTC with your existing IRCTC user id and password.
2. Click the link given on 'Plan my travel' Page for E-Wallet Registration.
3. Fill PAN CARD No. and other details.
4. Deposit one-time non-refundable registration fee of Rs.250/-( inclusive of Service Tax and Education CESS on Service Tax) online with any of the available payment options
5. Credit the E-Wallet account with the minimum deposit of Rs.100/- and top up with the required booking amount. Maximum amount permitted in user?s account is Rs. 5,000.
6. Pay ticket booking amount through E-Wallet which is shown as payment option along with other Banks.
Availability:
Presently, Booking through IRCTC E-Wallet as payment option will not be available from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
