My primary education was done at this town. I used to visit Station as a walking place. It was during 1970-75. During those days, the station was the only place to do evening morning walk. All the trains were running on steam locos. I can't forget those engines when drivers used to empty the hot ash at this station and fill water in thier steam locos.
Ashoknagar was made an independent District of MP in 2001 or so. This town now has almost 12-14 trains plying daily against 4 in my childhood. This town is having a TV tower, a small stadium, District Civil Hospital, Grain Market, A polytechnic and a Post graduate degree college. It is largely a agriculture economy with all major banks. All mobile networks and internet links are available.
