One of my friends booked a telescopic ticket from Solapur to Dibrugarh by Hutatma/Azad Hind/Kamrup train, in sleeper class. He was issues 3 tickets corresponding to 3 legs of journey. The total fare was Rs.880/-. Due to some reasons, he had to cancel it. Cancel charges was only Rs.60/- with a refund of Rs.820/-. Total km is 3665. Travelling cost works out to approx. 24 paise/km. IR is really very very economical. Hats off.
Each internal PNR will attract 60/- cancellation. They cannot just deduct 60/- from overall fare.
But, yes IR's SL is lot cheaper when compared to AC classes.

even i expected 60 deduction per ticket, i.e, 180 cancel charges. but it is only 60. maybe telescopic cancel charges are just like single ticket.
No sir in case of telescopic ticket the cancellation charge will be collcted only from Main ticket(1 st ticket containing fare n other details)
n the funnest part here is if u r traveling for 2,000 kms
1 st ticket 0kms-50kms with WL ticket
2nd 51st kms-2,000 kms Confirm ticket then only 30 clerkage charge will be collcted for the 1st...

u r right. as per rule, wait listed passengers should not board. so if the first ticket is w/l, then, technically a person cannot travel. so the other tickets are of no use. and so, i think, cancel charges in telecopic tickets are dependent on status of first ticket.
