are you sure it is 12602. 12602 and 12601 reaches Salem in mid night. I guess this is West Cost Express
May be photographer has mistaken, since both mail and west cost express shares rake.
I dont think the station in pic is Salem.
Salem has all PF electrified and 12601/12602 or even West coast will never be under DL at SA.
