Palghat-Pollachi was expected to be ready by March-2014.....looks highly unlikely. The pf work at palghat junction is alsmost over (mg replaced by BG) and same at Palghat town also. As usual the kerala stretch is the one taking time.

Running the two trains : Dhanbad Allepey express and Tata Alleppey express as separate trains. Dhanbad Alleppey express extended till Kochuveli or CAPE. Tata Alleppey express to be converted to superfast and run till Ernakulam. The passenger associations of Dhanbad had already written to the railminister to separate the train and make it run as separate train. During one of my trips between ernakulam and cbe, one of the coach attendants was also pointing out that the Dhanbad train might be extended till TVC with reduction in stops and increase in speed and Tata Alleppey will run as superfast till ernakulam.If both continue to run daily on different slots then it would be good connectivity from orissa,AP,TN till kerala
