This is not the first "Duronto" which got converted to "Shatabdi" (Can't say as downgraded, as Shatabdi enjoys highest priority in IR), Howrah - Dhanbad Duronto was the first. Recently Delhi - Ajmer Duronto is converted into JanShatabdi. These trains are converted based on the coach composition and timings of the train. As MAS-CBE has AC CC and EC, it has been converted into Shatabdi, which also justifies it's timing, while MAS-TVC Duronto is converted into "AC SF" as it had AC sleeper classes and it was Over Night Train.
