Gooty in the Anantapuram district of AP, is a major historical place. Gooty fortress on the hillock is about 5 kms from the railway station and one can trek to the top of the hill to see several historical attractions.
The fort itself was used as the MINT to mint the currency by the Tippu Sultan the Great.
