and one most important point is that sleeper class is not worth travelling. infiltrated by UR and WL
True leaving out Overnights/Well Maintained trains SL/UR class travel for 12 hr+ has to be well thought out before travelling.
sleeper class has become really dangerous for travelling with family or alone so even middle class people are seeking for ac for safe and comfortable travel thats why number of ac trains increasing and it will go on increasing in future as demand is very high..
Full AC Express trains are the future of IR :)
There are so many trains where AC Classes touch WL on 60 Days ARP itself clear indicator of the demand in AC Classes,
Consider the example of Mumbai-Delhi-Mumbai which is definitely the most demanding long distance sector
On any Tuesday there are 5 Full AC trains - BDTS-DEE GR/LTT-NZM AC Exp/BDTS-NZM GR/BCT...

Yes.... AC classes are becoming the most demanded.... It can be attributed to:-
1. Sizeable chunk of Indian Population consists of Middle Class & lie anywhere between lower middle class to upper middle class... These masses can very well afford Air-Conditioned Travel but Air travel becomes bit heavy on their pockets considering the soaring air fares...
2. Thus demand is ever increasing...
