SWR should introduce train from Chikmagalur and Shimoga to join at Birur and run to Mumbai as Sharavathi Express. Sharavathi river starts from this area only. Can have 8 each from Chikmagalur & Shimoga (5 SL, 1 3A and 2 GEN each). This train can start as thrice a week with Dep time around 1600 at both places and reach Mumbai by 10 AM next day, may follow KSK timing between Birur to Pune if needed. Return direction can start by 1400 hours from Mumbai and reach 0600 at Birur, bifurcate and reach final destination by 0800.
Present Sharavathi express to Mysore can be made to run along with Chalukya on all 7 days by bifurcating from Arsikere and attaching to Talaguppa-Mysore...
