Good Evening, here is my situation " my 3 friends are going to new delhi from secunderabad on 11 december 2013, they have confirmed ticket with them and they are advising me to book a ticket(which will go into waitlisting as no vaant seat is their) and they will adjust me with their seats. " So i want to know :
1. Is it legally possible.( i dont want a messing situation and conversation with TTC)
2. how should i proceed to book the ticket(online or offline , as some body told me...

You can take WL ticket(offline/PRS) and board with your friends.
Assume that TTE hasn't given you the Berth then are you ready to adjust on your friend's berth and vice versa as your journey is quite long ?
If yes then go for that.
But generally, TTE gives the berth(if available).
