just to correct you, gradients in KR are kept surprisingly low... most of the alignment has a very less elevation variance. Only to keep the gradients low, numerous tunnels and bridges were incorporated in the alignment, which made the construction phase challenging. But due to that extra effort, the operations are not that difficult (from a gradient perspective)
i don't think there was any official proposal to extend this train. It was a much discussed topic here in IRI for its extension to BKSC or RNC.
Few members/admins had sent few suggestions for its extension but only got negative replies citing operational difficulties
i dont know kya operational difficulties hain isko RNC or BKSC extend karne me.. thoda profit bhi milne lagega agar extend kara to :/
It will be still a white elephant if extended upto Bokaro or Ranchi because of a Shtabdi. Howrah Bokaro needs a Super fast Inter City atleast 3/4 days/week because only 3 days/ week non - Shatabdi type express connection by HWH RNC INTER CITY via DHN. A slow overnight passenger throgh longer route.
