you are right, janshatabdi runs with only 9 coaches, if it can be augmented with another 4-5 ac coaches and 3-4 sitting coaches and make it a permanent 18 coacher then it will be better as KR is tremendously congested now so introducing new trains mean more delays but augmenting old trains with coaches will reduce congestion of the route and help in maintaining timetable..
Did your folks get upgraded (given that the train was mostly empty)? also any pictures of the coach/ menu? thanks
I agree on the point. I think as a standard measure ,on all daily trains whichever train is having heavy rush, should be ideally converted to a 22 coach train in case if it runs with 17-18 coaches. Additional 4 coaches (sleeper) would mean almost 290 additional passengers.This can also in one way lessen the burden of trying to introduce newer trains and then not getting relevant slots for their running
