Don know. But feeling very excited about new rail lines. If a railway line is made between tlgp and honnavara, there ll be a direct, shorter , quicker connectivity from coastal districts of karnataka with capital bangalore, and places like ask, hassan, mys, cmnr. The reason I feel this ll be helpful is cos of the following reasons.
1. Coastal karnataka is connected to bangalore by two trains, one is the day train which takes 16.5 hours plus a day travel. Travels 639 kms. Another is the night express, but leaves karwar at 2.30 pm , almost killing half a day's schedule, travelling 704 kms for 17.5 hours and reaching sbc.

Just to add to my lengthy post. There was a proposal for a rail line from k r nagar to coorg via hunsur. Again its a very costly investment plus passes thru dense forest and thru nagarahole reserve which again opens the pandora s box. Plus hunsur wood is world famous. And most important is the population density of coorg. Very very less. And it ll become a dead end point until connected to majn , which s probably I feel a though too unrealistic to even dream of.
