LKO, as legendary HWH-PBH-LKO-ASR was commissioned quite earlier to Sitapur route!!!
Correction:
I think LJN was operational earlier with CNB-Lucknow connection commissioned quite earlier to LKO-BSB connectivity!!
Further, Alambagh Workshop was established prior to Charbagh Workshop!!
With CNB-Lucknow only running in first phase, high chance exist of track laid with terminal status & seems LJN accomplish the same & Alambagh was to facilitate LJN!!

wow !!! ..my doubt came correct ..had always felt that choti line would have come prior to badi line .. i too have heard that Alambagh workshop was older than charbagh ..but could not connect to LJN and LKO relation in terms of their age ...thanks vinay sir..
