A day with Indian Railways...Unforgettable day..!!!
Today I had 2 TATKAL Bookings to be done ...1 FOR HWH TO MAS (COROMANDEL EXP) AND KTU TO CRLM (CAN-YPR EXPRESS). Both were important tickets.
I first boarded the 1ST EMU at 4am frm LKF station went to PRS counter at New Alipore (NACC)..reaching there i was the first person in the queue.

more... ticket had to be done only on online. So I called my mom to stand in the queue at 9am instead of me and came back home boarding another EMU back to LKF.
I Logged in and successfully went to payment page with 2 mins but....money was deducted but no ticket booked...Disgusted I tried again as seats were still available...but again money got deducted and no ticket was booked and CKWL BY now was 66 in SL.i again tried to book in Island Exp from TCR to KJM..even though tickets were booked by all came CKWL 27,26,25...Later in the day i had to cancel that ticket.
Meanwhile mom called me and informed that COROMANDEL ticket was successful.
After a quite eventful 1st half of the day i decided to visit my sweet princess at her mothers place in Barrackpore (BP)...but little did i know what was in store for me...
I boarded a SEALDAH EMU from LKF around 3.30pm and reached SDAH by 4pm. When i reached the station to take the next train to BP...i saw huge crowds on the station and continous announcements that many trains are being cancelled and only some special trains are being run to a derailment in the morning near DUM DUM station. I thought i had no chance to get into any trains due to such crowd and my physical condition. BUT fate had something else stored for me...suddenly a Barrackpore Local was announced and it happened to be the train i was standing in front of and i got a seat...window seat.
During the journey I saw repair work carried at DUMDUM 2ND line which was affected.LOTS of people on tracks and many trains EMU's and Long Distance Trains queued one after another on 4th track....looking like a trafffic JAM.
Even though the train was packed beyond its capacity i was lucky the terminated at the last stoppage where i was also scheduled to get down.
On my way back i was which train to take so that i could come home easily and quickly.But fate had other things in store for me...i got a train from barrackpore at 7pm and reached SDAH at 9.30pm (2 & Half Hour journy...usually this route takes 35-40 mins).
Due to delayed arrival i missed 2 trains for my house 8:35pm and 9:15pm.
I decided that i will take next EMU at 10:02pm. I boarded the train and was waiting for its departure and was wanting this tiresome day to end fast. But that was not to be.
I heard announcements that due to cracks in rail tracks near GARIA station all trains for SDAH south section have been stopped and some trains which had been stalled at different stations. I was sitting and wondering will i able to get back home today......Finally after 10.45pm slowly normal services resumed and reachd my house at 11.10pm...Had my dinner and now sharing my whole day experience with INDIAN RAILWAYS.....
