Nagarcoil (NCJ): Operation of the new Bengaluru-Nagercoil Express via Karur and Namakkal has received a good response from the public in the region. Though delayed,...
Chennai Central - Madurai Bi-Weekly Doronto which is now operated via Arakkonam,Katpadi,Jolarpettai,Salem,Namakkal,Karur, and Dindugal should be converted as daily Expresses since no daily train operated in this sector.
Some Salem-Erode-Karur operated expresses have to be diverted in the shortest newly opened route of Salem-Rasipuram-Namakkal-Karur.This Namakkal 41 km Route is 41 km shorter than Erode Route which save time and avoid the congested loco reversal works in the Erode Jn.

You are right...Loco reversal is one of the major problems at ED. Also, SA-RASP- NMKL- KRR is the shortest distance without entering ED. As this region is a newly opened sector, it is devoid of express trains. I don't think that converting MAS -MDU Duronto in to a daily express will be a good option. Soon new trains will be announced in this route. And this is also the same with TPJ -KKDI - MNM- VPT route. This newly laid route is underutilized and there are no day express trains. It would be better if some of the south bound trains are diverted via this route without entering MDU. It all depends on the forthcoming railway budget. Let us hope for the best.
