For mumbai bangalore connection , railway can never achieve efficiency of road transport , reasons being ---
Mumbai bangalore premium will never run , buses will always be more cheaper and faster ..
Topology of area will always prevent high speed trains on this route .

Long route.More travel time. Less preferred by passengers. bus lobby gets more pax
Ansari Saab... trains are not less preferred by passengers. You can look at the W/L in all trains b/n SBC-Mumb. Trains are very less.. Its only the AC class passengers who can everytime afford 1.5k prefer buses. Normal SL and General class pax relies heavily on trains and they know the frequency as well. Hence will plan their travel accordingly...
