I am planning to take my TV from Hyderabad to Sambalpur. How can i take that. Do I need to do any special ticket for that. Please suggest me the process of taking the TV in train.
Thanks
Krishna

But Sir, are the RPF action legally tenable? Is there any bar on carrying products in carton box? Could someone elaborate on the baggage rules?

TV is not included in personal baggage list in IR, it attracts special rate.

Probably yes...make sure that u have the original bill receipt to convey that you are not carrying it for the purpose of selling it. Bill's date ensures that it is an old set & hence for personal use only.Or manage a repair bill to prove it old and for personal use.and tide with big bed sheet to avoid attention and to save space.

Free allowance is not admissible on articles like cycles, scooters etc. Modified Scooter and Motorised Tri-wheeler moped belonging to Orthopaedically Handicapped Persons may be booked in Brake-van, accommodation permitting, (not in compartment) at 75% concession in charges provided that it is carried by the same train in which the concerned Orthopaedically Handicapped Person is travelling, on the production of the certificate from Government Doctor.
Please approach the Luggage Booking Office at least 30 minutes prior to the departure of train in order to have your luggage weighed by the Railway authorities".
