Is it possible to get an updated (or fairly recent) and accurate list of the metre gauge trains that are currently operational? I am planning a trip on at least one metre gauge train in each zonal railway (if applicable) in the summer of 2014 and this information would help me plan my trip. Thanks in advance.

Just a tip here. Do include NG routes in your plan too to make it even more fun. As per my li'l knowledge I can suggest you a few existent and according to me better than the rest segments of MG/NG in India.
* BE-ASH MG (NER)
* ADI-UDZ MG (WR)
