For just 20 rupees, you get a pre-cut plastic sheet with holes for your head and arms. My Kata backpack is waterproof but with my laptop and camera gear in there... I'm not prepared to risk it unless I absolutely have no choice.

There are only two 61 cms wide NG routes ( which are operational ) in IR.
Matheran railway( in this pic) & Darjeeling HR.
Other operational NG routes are 76 cms wide.

Exactly...In fact IR operates on 4 gauges.
61cms & 76 cms( Both known as NG)...
100 cms( MG ) & 166cms ( BG ).
Kolkata Metro & few new lines of Delhi Metro ( INCL Airport EXP line) runs on STANDARD GAUGE( 143.5 cms)
