But in that case, they should have atleast given an on time departure. Or may be they have arranged a spare rake from some other division just like the rake of 03413/14

Previously Lal Quila Express was the only option for Dakshineswar to Delhi, now Lal Quila Express is cancelled permanently and there is no train from Dakshineswar to Delhi. If Sealdah - Ajmer Express gets halt at Dakshineswar, Passengers can deboard at Agra and then catch any Delhi Bound train from Agra.
The same passengers from Dakshineswar can take a metro to Howrah or a suburban train to Sealdah and instead take trains like Howrah Rajdhani, Sealdah Rajdhani or Sealdah Duronto and reach Delhi way before reaching the same destination by changing train at Agra

I doubt if anyone used to travel in trains like Lal Quila, Janata, Upper India, Koaa Anvt all the way till Delhi. Those trains used to serve as a connection between intermediate stations.
And Dakshineswar is very much within KMDA. It's completely unnecessary to provide halts to such long distance trains just for the sake of few localities.

That's simply because both Bandel and Naihati are important junctions too. The whole Nadia district and Katwa subdivision of Purba Bardhaman are dependent on these two stations. Had they not been such important junctions, they wouldn't have recieved halts of any long distance train. For instance, just look at Barrackpore or Shrirampur. They are way more important and bigger cities than Bandel but still they dont get halts of the long distance trains.
Dakshineswar, on the other hand, serves only a few localities of Kolkata like Baranagar and Dunlop. On top of that, Dakshineswar has metro connectivity which makes transport way more easier than the other aforesaid stations.

That winter time cancellation thing completely depends on the respective zones and RB but the late arrival of one rake now is not going to affect the timely departure of other rakes from Balurghat untill and unless the arriving rake is delayed by more than 24hrs.
Honestly i was expecting the extra rake since this extension was demanded by a high profile person.

Mdp HS will hardly going to help Asansol. That train takes a longer route to Delhi. Moreover, since the train has a little TAT, the train will occupy a platform at Asansol, that too at the busy afternoon hours. It's better to regularise this Asansol-Anand Vihar spl via Dhn, this will be more helpful for this region.

Basically all these things started with the extension of Asansol Chennai exp to Jasidih. But one thing that people from Jharkhand ignores is the changing political dynamics in Asansol and Bengal as a whole. The Bengal BJP lobby currently is pretty strong and they will hardly do anything that will reduce their chances of getting good seats in 2024 and 2026. It can be best understood from the extension of Mayurakshi exp. Birbhum district dont have a single MP from BJP, still the discontent and protest became so high that they had to give a new train to Siuri after Nishikant Dubey extended Mayurakshi to Jharkhand. Again after a few months, when he asked for extension of Maa Tara exp till Godda, he was declined and all he recieved for Godda extend was Sdah Rph Memu. So you are trying to say is that this is the revenge that they want to take by extending a highly popular train that runs full throughout the year?? Moreover, even if I consider your statement, then what is the fault of the Asansol-Raniganj-Durgapur belt passengers because if this extension happens (which is very unlikely to happen), then they will be affected the most. Afterall, the normal citizens as a whole had never protested to provide any train service to the aforesaid sections.
Btw, as far as my knowledge goes, Giridih had a direct link train to Kolkata till 2020. It was in 2020 when this connection was discontinued.

Not 3, it should be 2. Coalfield gets filled up even before it reaches Asansol. Among Sdah Intercity and agnibina, Intercity is not at all a office goers train. It reaches Sdah almost at 11 whereas Agnibina reaches by 9am (Earlier it should be reaches Howrah by 8.30am).
Just to give you idea about the importance of this train for Asansol-Durgapur belt - despite of being a Intercity that runs for just 200km, this train has 2 seperate remote quotas (RLWL for Raniganj-Andal and RLWL for Durgapur). Can you show me any other train that runs for mere 200kms but has 2 seperate remote quotas??
