Partially wait listed refund -
I booked 3 e-tickets few days back. 2 tickets got confirmed and one was wait listed after chart preparation. Confirmed passengers traveled and Wait listed person did not travel. How do I get the refund of wait listed ticket? Do I have to apply for the refund or will it get refunded automatically? Pls explain.

Seems many people doesn't have any idea about how to collect the refund for partially wait listed and not travelled tickets. If any one is aware of the procedure pls share with me.

Thanks for the reply. One more question is - are the partially wait listed passengers allowed to board and travel in the reserved coaches?

I got WL 9,10,11 on 11th December. There is no change in the status since then. Is it difficult to get the PQWL get confirmed? Pls respond

Thanks Sanju. But the PQWL waitlist is different from normal WL. That is my worry.

Tatkal tickets are also in waiting list for the journey date(16th Dec). No improvement in PQWL status (9,10,11). Just one day to go. What are the chances of getting these confirmed. Appreciate your replies.
When we book tickets online, we get PNR no to our registered mobile as SMS. Does railways accept this SMS as ticket? Pls clarify.

Pls visit IRCTC home page. It is mentioned as 'Travel without printouts of E-tickets'. But my question is do we need to show PDF of ticket or is SMS enough.
Passengers travelling without printout of eticket will be charged Rs.50 extra and they will not be treated as ticketless passengers.
