2019 DASUYA PICTURES. A clean station with well-maintained toilets, reservation center and parking for both two-wheelers and cars. Taxis and Autos have a separate place to park. First-class waiting room though available was locked. The ticket machine is installed but not yet functional. The foot over bridge is an excellent addition. Reservation clerk is very friendly and RPF people were very friendly here. The Dasuya station can be developed into a major station in between Jalandhar and Pathankot. A few more trains can stop here. It can also be connected with Qadian, Hoshiarpur, and Daulatpur.
I can state that Malwa express is faster than 22942, 22462, 12476, 12550, 19806, 11078, and 14034 in between Jammu and Delhi. I have taken taken this train from Dasuya and always relied on this to travel. Remember Indore (MHOW) and parts of Punjab/ Jammu served by this train are military cantonments. Near Dasuya we have Uchi Bassi, Talwara, and near Mukerian we have Tibri, Mirthal etc. For most local passengers, Pathankot to Jalandhar etc there is a Sri Ganga Nagar express which runs around the same time as Malwa. People prefer that as it is cheaper (no super fast charges). Only Military people and people paying fares for long routes utilize this train. I hope for the sake of Military personal and other passengers who travel for long distances no one will not write letters to discontinue its local stops. According to Ferozpur division manager, Dasuya sell (or reserve) more...

Let me clarify this confusion over the name. Dasuya is an official name of this town but railway station is spelled as Dasua. Either some one mixed up the spellings or railway admin did not really bother to verify with district authorities. This has caused confusion to several people. So Dasuya is used in maps/ google/ wiki/ official purposes but Dasua is used by railways.
It is sad that even though Dasuya is an important station with a cantonment just 4 km away not many trains are stopped here. In addition this is the major station in District Hoshiarpur and has many more trains stopping/ passing through here than Hoshiarpur itself. This station also has a potential to tap NRIs flying to Delhi and trying to reach Doaba belt. On any given day atleast 4 passengers board AC1st class in Jammu mail (out of 16 seats) or Dauladhar (8seats). ACII, ACIII or Sleeper class seats in Malwa or Jammu mail going to Delhi are always waiting listed. Currently NRIs come to Jalandhar either by bus or train and travel by taxis for an hr or two to reach Miani/ Begowal/ Dasuya belt. Indian railways should focus on developing 3rd tier towns like Dasuya which has great potential and it will also ease pressure from Jalandhar/ Ludhiana...
