I agree. One big glaring typing error by ER. It should actually be 13017/13018 Ganadevta Express.

I may be wrong here, but I think this is one of the ways for faster clearance of sections. At least this is what IR had proposed for the HWH-DLI route. That is why Kanchanjunga may have been provided with E-loco for such short distance. Corrections are welcome.

hoooooooh!!!!! Reached Dhanbad sharp at 11:01 a.m. (10 minutes early)
Anyhow i just managed to catch this train which was 1 minute early at Durgapur station.

This train is one of the most punctual trains of India...... i travelled in this train several times and i never saw it getting late more then 20 minutes.

Just for information to all members - 22387/8 Black Diamond SF express is an ECR train & not ER. ECR has recently asked Railway Board for LHB coaches for this train. They expect to receive this rake shortly. If LHB fied this train will be the first Intercity service to have LHB rake in the eastern zone. The only drawback will be - this train is always overcrowded & if there is no middle doors then there will be chaotic scenes at intermediate staions. Hope the LHB ICE rakes are provided with the middle doors for the convenience of the passengers.

I was just browsing through the details of 03059/60 HWH-NJP special. Looking at the coach composition & the days of run, I have come to the conclusion that this train might be having an RSA with 12331/2 Himgiri Exp.
12332 Himgiri Exp departs from JAT on Monday & reaches HWH on Wednesday at 11:30 AM. 03059 starts from HWH on Wednesday at 23:55 PM with the same coach composition excluding the PC. In the return direction, 03060 starts from NJP on Thursday at 12:35 PM to reach HWH on the same day at 22:50 PM. 12331 Himgiri exp starts for HWH on Friday at 23:55 PM.

The remains of the legendary Dhanbad - Jharia - Patherdih railway line in Dhanbad . . .
Really sad to see a tragic end of once a lifeline connectivity between Dhanbad & Jharia which was closed around 11 yrs ago .

Thank you so much for these nostalgic pics. I was a regular passenger on board the DHN-Patherdih passenger (DP as we lovingly called it).
BTW any idea whether the diamond crossing (India's first one) still exists or has been dismantled?
