Sealdah division runs the maximum EMU in the largest Suburban Railway network of India. The division is trying to adapt more passenger friendly features. They have successfully improved traffic controlling & is trying to increase 12 Car fleet. The division also has a wide range of EMUs manufactured by TREL, TWL, BESCO, BEML, ICF, JESSOP, BHEL, ICF-BOMBARDIER, etc...this diversity is not observed in Howrah division. Apart from the above, Sealdah division has many single units in various liveries which is quite rare to observe under a single CarShed....

Brief:- EMU Local dashed with T/W at Shrirampur Stn in HWH Div on 06.04.2019:
Train No- 37057 HWH-SHE Local ,
Unit No- 11328-11437-60041-11327
Base- Howrah (Damaged MC 11328 )
T/W No- 861 of SHE Depot (4 wheeler) working at Shrirampur Additional line from 14:40 hrs to 16:00 hrs on local block. After block cancelled it was moving towards Seoraphuli via UP reversible line (Diverted from SRP Home signal). At that time 37057 local which was also coming through reverse line dashed in rear of T/W at 16:15 hrs at SRP station PF no-2. Resulted T/W derailed and staff of T/W injured.
2. Priliminary Cause:- EMU overshoot the Home Signal. (Confirmed later by enquiry team)
3. No of staff/ supervisor injured :- 07 nos.
4) Treatment:- They have been admitted in State hospital at Shrirampur.
Sr.DEE/OP/HWH , Sr. DEE/TRD/HWH and DEE/TRD/HWH are at site.
