Sub: Monthly Report on Important Event concerning M/o Railways.

3. Physical Progress of important projects: Given below
1. Belapur-Seawood-Uran electrified double line: This work was sanctioned in 1996-97.
Anticipated cost is Rs.1512.86 crore (due to cost escalation). The cost is being shared by Railway &
State Govt. of Maharashtra in the ratio 1:2. The physical progress is 15%. Works are expected to be
completed by 2013-14 (2017-18 due to cost escalation).
2. Extension of MRTS Phase-II from Velachery to St. Thomas Mount (5 km): This work
was sanctioned in 2006-07. Present cost is Rs. 495.74 crore. The cost is being shared by Railway &
State Govt. of Tamil Nadu in the ratio 1:2. The physical progress is 46%. Works are expected to be
completed by 2013-14.
3. Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP-II): This work was sanctioned in 2008-09.
Present cost is Rs.6220.15 crore. The cost is being shared by Railway & State Govt. of Maharashtra
in the ratio 1:2. The financial progress is 44%. Works are expected to be completed by 2015-16.
4. Extension of Metro Railway from Noapara to Barasat via Bimanbandar (18.00 km): This
work was sanctioned in 2010-11. Present cost is Rs. 2397.72 crore. The physical progress is 17%.
Works are expected to be completed by 2015-16.
5. Construction of Metro Railway from Baranagar to Barrackpore & Dakshineshwar:
This work was sanctioned in 2010-11. Present cost is Rs. 2069.60 crore. The physical progress is
17%. Works are expected to be completed by 2015-16.
6. Construction of Metro Railway from NSCB Airport to Kavi Subhash (New Garia) via
Rajarhat: This work was sanctioned in 2010-11. Present cost is Rs. 3951.98.crore. The physical
progress is 5%. Works are expected to be completed by 2015-16.
7. Construction of Metro Railway from Joka to Binoy Badal Dinesh (BBD) Bagh and Joka
to Diamond Park: This work was sanctioned in 2010-11. Present cost is Rs. 2913.51 crore. The
physical progress is 15%. Works are expected to be completed by 2015-16.
8. Running of 12 coach EMU trains on Harbour corridors (CSTM MumbaiPanvel/Andheri: This work was sanctioned in 2012-13. Present cost is Rs.714.10 crore. The cost is
being shared by Railway & State Govt. of Maharashtra in the ratio 1:2. Works are expected to be
completed by 2015-16.
9. Hyderabad/Secunderabad Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS) Phase-II: This
work was sanctioned in 2012-13. Present cost is Rs. 632.68 crore. The cost is being shared by
Railway & State Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in the ratio 1:2. Works are expected to be completed by
2015-16 depending on availability of funds.
10. East-West Metro Corridor from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake (14.67 km): This work
was sanctioned in 2012-13. Present cost is Rs. 4874.58 crore. Works are at various stages of
progress and expected to be completed by 2016-17. The Cabinet had decided to transfer this work in
Kolkata to Ministry of Railways. Physical progress is about 30%.
