This double dekker is successful train running from past 12 years. 2ACC are replaced with 2GS and total 5GS are running now with 600 new capacity. It would not be scrapped or replaced with intercity coaches. In future you may see introduction of Vande Metro with 16 coaches with fare in between GS and ACC.
This DD is doing well. Now with the addition of 5 2S coaches, it may be on par with Brindavan...
Not now. But Maybe after 4-5 yrs. If they introduce any new DD rakes, then we can expect the replacement. And this is one of the successful trains b/w MAS & SBC. And CC price is just 580 only which is less than the price of AC VOLVO Buses, Shatabdis, VBs and 3AC of Overnight trains b/w MAS-SBC.
Another small vacation to my Southern hometown on-board this demanding train... the Double Decker Express train 👍👍

From some days i am thinking why VSKP-MAS both dedicated trains for VSKP onward and Return train is having veered TT /train/29014/35/401 . /train/14944 this is the Reason as i found it now which may possible 95%. The morning departure from MAS to VSKP is exactly of MAS-BBS Weekly. So soon VSKP-MAS-VSKP will be extended to BBS for early morning arrival for BBS Passengers. Once VSKP-MAS will be LHBfied extension will take place as currently 22801 VSKP-MAS is running with ICF-CBC Rake but 22870 is LHBfied and ECoR waiting for new LHB rakes for 22801 to extend it to BBS.

Chennai Visakhapatnam weeklies and Chennai Bhubaneswar used to share the same slot with Chennai dep at 2110. After lockdown restart Chennai wanted to return the rakes from PF without keeping in stabling line till night. At the same time Tirupati BBS 2 weeklies used to leave at 1200 so SCR has given a common slot for Tirupati BBS and Chennai Vskp, BBS trains from GDR at 1215 upto Vskp 2230. This is brief history of the slots and sequence of adjustments done from the past 5 yrs.
so can we think extension plan is not there? can u confirm it please?
Both Visakhapatnam Chennai weekly express trains have RSA and are engaged for the total week. Monday Dep with Thrusday Shirdi express, Saturday dep ICF rake with Paradeep exp, Kurnool spl. I haven't heard any such proposal of extention.

Post the revised TT, we might see that in btw Vaniyambadi and Ambur... let's wait and see... also let's hope in the meanwhile that we might see the 130kmph upgrade in this JTJ-SBC-JTJ section (although DD and Uday N/A)...👍👍

Yes correct. Mostly it is BWT. However there are few occasions when I have seen VB overtaking it at Malur as well when DD was delayed
With new TT, DD and Brindavan have good gap. Need not be one behind the other.
If you see, there is no train after 0800 towards MAS till 1430 (not counting weeklies and looong distance trains)

That is fine. But both trains are having increased running time now.
