Changes in the pattern of Train Services

Due to engineering work at Karaikkudi on May 19th, 2024, several train services are being affected. Some trains are fully cancelled, including trains 16849, 16850, 06830, and 06125. Southern Railway has announced changes to several train services on May 19 due to the commissioning of a Tower Wagon Siding at Karaikudi. The work will take place from 5:45 AM to 5:45 PM. It will not stop at Sivaganga, Karaikudi, and Pudukottai, but will have additional stops at Madurai and Dindigul. Other changes include the short termination of Train No. 06197 (Tiruvarur-Karaikudi passenger special) at Periyakottai and Train No. 06829 (Tiruchi-Karaikudi passenger special) at Chettinad. Train No. 06126 (Karaikudi-Tiruchi passenger special) will originate from Chettinad. Additionally, Train No. 06830 (Karaikudi-Tiruchi passenger), Train No. 06125 (Tiruchi-Karaikudi passenger), Train No. 16849 (Tiruchi - Rameswaram Express), and Train No. 16850 (Rameswaram-Tiruchi Express) are cancelled. Train No. 06198 (Karaikudi-Tiruvarur passenger) has been rescheduled to depart at 7 PM instead of 6 PM. Train No. 06887 (Tiruchi-Karaikudi passenger special) will arrive in Karaikudi with a 20-minute delay.

Hello Friends,
I recently traveled by this train twice within a span of 3.5 months. The experience of even 2A coach was horrible. The rake with reversed CC is in a pathetic condition and to add to this, the maintenance is way too inadequate.
This is a SO called PT. I think this needs to be taken seriously by the railways as a basic requirement. The toilets are pathetic with no working flush system, taps of ancient pull up type and no proper mirrors (half of them seems permanently blurred). This is just...

See maintenance of toilets of almost 90% coaches of mail/exp/sf/pgr trains of many zone is in very very bad condition. Money is allocated through tenders, but no work, corruption in hidden form is going on IR. Only tender gets called for cleaning of toilets of coaches but work is not seen on ground.
Toilets r dirty, floors and walls of toilets have black stains, smelly toilets. Very bad condition
Yes toilets of 12838 puri exp is very very bad conditions i have travelled several times in this train.
