Everyone knows that this train was going to get recategorized. But there was no idea that why is it happening. I am in support that it doesn't deserve to go as M/E.
But through some sources I came to know that due to too much halts, its delay chances are increasing due to which this notice was issued. Even though it is dropped now, but in future again it can be implemented.

Even these halts cannot be removed, due to political reason and strikes. So my question is, what can be done better? Or recategorization was a good decision upto some extent?
Agree that the train has got too many halts. A few of closely located halts can be removed on the basis of revenue. But that's a far fetched idea, considering the fact that people who will never even travel in that train will go rogue.
And even if speed is reduced as many people are theorizing, the usual delay at NDLS isn't that much to reduce average from 61kmph to less than 55kmph. Perhaps railway was planning something else, that's the reason they've postponed the release of new TAAG to January 2025.

Well you are right. Might be possible any Amrit Bharat on same route could have been planned.
And if any train which should get recategorized is 12875. Seriously, it is having too many halts and avg speed is less than to qualify as SF train.

Wait for Ratha Jatra ends then you might be see change of numbers of trains
No dear till 31st dec all will run as per status co till jan 1 taag
The notice has been already cancelled from railway board itself. You can check from irctc as well. No changes has happened. I will try to attach that doc.

Now if this get implemented, some kind shit everyone gonna face. Long queues in PRS counter on arrival of Purushottam Express, especially at ndls might be possible to take refund.

I am still hoping that even this happens, it should be for temporary basis. This train was started in around 92 by former RM CK Jaffer. Even though other train on similar route existed. But this was started as Superfast Train. Never happened in 25 years, will be going to happen soon. Just hope for good, and try to do things which can be possible. Like, talking to a society(purpose should match) who can request to zone and writing letters and all.
One last thing, IR will only face loss in revenue...
