''The bio-toilet system is very sensitive. It has more than 100 per cent chances of choking -- even a bit of gutka, if not flushed properly by the passenger in a moving or stationary train, can choke the toilets." This sentence says it all.
Hope travelling passengers are at least made aware of these things.Even though railways have put display boards etc still people dont seem to understand. They keep on throwing all types of articles choking the entire toilets making it unfit for use .I think they should try and revert to the original

bio toilets were always going to create problems for the cleaning staff. To an extent they are right when they say that they are also doing manual scavenging.

Exactly , its better that Biolets are removed. It will take a century for our people to learn that they should not spoil. I have seen in Karwar SBC express where the cleaners clean the biolet unit manually at SBC yard, really a sad situation. Despite putting the notice in all 3 languages (Two official and one state language) , people put those in commode causing it to choke and overflow. Next was in MAQ-MAO intercity , there even dustbin was present in toilets still water bottles were dumped in commode. This will seriously cause health hazards. Next are the miscreants who pelt stones at trains , that too LHB is their very favourite one.

You are right. It is very difficult to educate the people abt all these things. Hygiene is purely a personal thing.....not too sure how much of a difference it can make through repeated announcements and notices.
When the same set of people travel abroad, nobody dares to do such a thing

Its all about punishment and fine , Spitting in station attracts 200 rs fine but how many RPF are bothered ? Had they given two slaps infront of all to the person who spits then automatically everyone ll change
