* World bank suggests that the duration between the 2 consecutive trains should be increased or the number of trains should be reduced which is not a practical idea. It is not possible for IR to cancell about 100 trains to increase the inter train spacing.
* The better way is to introduce automatic signalling on all the main trunk lines which can permit inter-train spacing of 3 minutes against about 10 minutes in IR long distance trains. And World Bank should provide soft loan for the purpose, as it involve preventing accidents and saving precious human lives.

The investing in state of the art signalling is distinctly the cheapest way to augment track capacity, but that did not happen because signalling directorate was always bulldozed by the mighty engineering (civil) directorate which always ensured maximum funds for construction of new tracks. Almost every problem connected with IR find its root in its outdated organisational structure, very strong departmentalism and political interference.
