* Right decision, practically it is seen that with stations of 35000 foot fall per day, the escalator is scarcely utilised, not justifying the expenditure of a few crores per station Rs 1 Cr for 1 or 2 platforms. * IR tend to go full throttle on mass scale on non-remunerative new projects like escalators instead of going for pilot projects on few stations. to have ramps constructed on platforms of all stations as availability of porters is very low and they ask for exorbitant amounts, much higher than approved rates.
