* IR is least bothered to serve the passengers in true sense and is bothered to extract maximum possible from the reserved paxs who are only about 10% of total paxs and contribute much more than 50% of total revenue passenger segment.
* Reasonability of fares with respect to services offered is no where in picture
* Competition with airlines and roadways is not looked into before fixing schemes like suvidha/ Flexifare/ Premium-Tatkaal/ Tatkaal/ Special fare etc.
*...
more... Most of such extortionist schemes are fixed taking full advantage of monopoly in railway operation and take advantage of lack of alternative to paxs for medium to long distance travel (400 kms plus)
* Need of the hour is to identify loss making trains, classes and do some rationalisation of services/ facilities to reduce losses and increase revenue rather than indiscriminately increasinf fares of some trains/classes which is leading to poor occupancy and loss of revenue in long run.
