If EOG removed then 2 EOG will get free, so good chance that one more intercity of NWR will get LHB.
But its consuming one extra engine...power ...

1 loco cannot provide powet to 18 coaches. Also Two locos help to reduce jerks and provide faster acceleration. So two locos are used.
