See actually there is a difference. The UMB -CDG section is being doubled keeping in view of the passenger traffic, whereas the Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Bathinda section is a identified feeder route of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor , that's why it may be commissioned before UMB-CDG, and as the RM himself is giving preference to freight routes, and above all the DFC routes and feeder routes. The preliminary work for doubling of Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Bathinda has already started, and shall be commissioned by or before April 2018. The electrification of the said Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Bathinda section is going to start anytime , so my view is that it may get rolled in by that time.
