Western Railway conducted regular checks during June, 2017 where in near about 1.95 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel including unbooked luggage cases were detected, resulting in recovery of Rs. 8.33 crore which is 8.47 % more than the corresponding month of the last year. Besides, 941 beggars & unauthorized hawkers etc were apprehended, evicted, fined and more than 111 persons were sent to jail.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar, Chief Public Relations Officer of W.Rly, 202 checks were conducted during this period against touts and other anti-social elements by Western Rly’s commercial department. school children above 12 years of age were detected traveling in ladies compartment of suburban trains and were removed from ladies compartment by Surakshini squad.
Western Railway regularly conducts drive against ticketless travellers. In its endeavour to provide better services to its bonafide rail users and also to curb ticketless travelling, WR has regularly been taking necessary steps. Senior Officers are closely monitoring the revenue loss due to ticketless travel and such other irregularities. WR urges all rail users to buy proper railway ticket and travel with dignity.

Due to heavy rains and water flowing above danger level o­n Bridge No. 588 between Singapur-Therubali in Rayagada-Titlagarh Section of Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railwaythe following trains are diverted/rescheduled as detailed below:-

5)Train No. 12376/12375 Asansol-Chennai Central-Asansol is diverted to run via Bilaspur,Raipur,Nagpur, Ballarshah and Vijayawada stations in both the directions until further advice

Trains Rescheduled:
1.Train No.13352 Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express scheduled to depart Alappuzha at 06:00 hrs o­n 19th July, 2017is rescheduled to depart at 14:00 hrs on the same day due to late running of its pairing Train.

Kolkata, 18th July 2017:
To clear the extra rush of passengers, it has been decided to run five pairs of Special trains between Santragachi-Hatia-Santragachi during the period from 21.07.17 to 19.08.17.
The Special Train (02876) leaving Santragachi every Saturday at 22:35 hrs will reach Hatia at 07:50 hrs, the next day. In the return direction, the Special Train (02875) will leave Hatia every Fridayat 21:30 hrs and will arrive Santragachi at 07:15 hrs, the next day.

Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Secunderabad Railway Station cracked down chain snatchers during the confidential watch in the night at Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) cabin near Secunderabad Raiway Station.
Youth from different areas of twin cities involved in chain snatching incidents, Accused Nalla Rakesh, age: 21 yrs, S/o Surender, R/o Near safari function Hall, water worker quarters, sallemnagar, Malakpet, Hyderabad andaccused Gajula Rajesh, Age: 17 yrs, S/o Pochaiah, R/o Balaji Nagar, Pragathi Nagar, Dammaiaguda were involved in snatching incident occurred o­n 14th June, 2017 in Train No. 12710 Simhapuri Express and recovered 36 grams of gold worth Rs. 1,00,000/- and registered a case against them.
