actually a couple with WL 15 and 16 in 1st AC got their tickets confirmed through HO quota and got the two people coupe because they were known to some railway people. and I shared my wife's berth till VSKP. so much for Indian Railways and its big big talks. and nodes like HWH, SDAH, NJP etc are paradises for touts hand in gloves with the railway officials, U can buy any ticket from Kolkata to anywhere in any class upto the time of train departure, there is a big mafia racket behind it and I don't think any minister or any official has the spine to take on them. I am an ardent rail fan right from early 80s in my childhood when the steam whistle of the PDY - VM line behind our campus held a fascination for me and till recently upto last 5 yrs or so I...

One way of getting around this problem is that atleast during puja season increase capacity by augmenting an HA2 or HB1 coach or even a pure H1 coach for trains too and fro Kolkata. This will earn extra revenue for the railways because a Bengali will definitely like to indulge in luxury with his family members atleast during puja time. This was suggested to the higher ups but implementation might have faced ground realities and logistical problems. Anyway, there appears no solution in sight and upper class travel and its travails will continue to have the colonial hangover of 'everyone is equal but some are more equal than others'.
No augmentation possible as this is already running with full capacity. Once 26 coaches are cleared to.operate I sure this train would be augmented by a 3tier AC coach atleast
How will be an extra 3AC coach help someone who wants to indulge in the luxury of 1A atleast during puja season? And is it that 1A is only meant for the free loaders of railway Babus, bureaucrats and politicians and the rest of us full fare payers are cattle even if we can afford 1A and prefer 1A?
First AC is primarily meant for VIPs which is unfortunate and there are very few trains to have a complete H1 coach or more than one first AC coach. So permanent augmentation of first AC seems a little unrealistic to me.
