Just realised this train has only 3 sleeper and 9 3A. 3A looks vacant in GN quota. Should I cancel and book in 3A from Salem or will this get auto upgraded?
Better to book in 3A , upgrades may or may not happen . As u mentioned book from SA to LTT & boarding from SBC

I'll wait till charting then. 2A runs with 100+ vacant seats from SBC on weekdays. I booked in SL to explore this route since it's my first time, but I guess I'll have to go for 2A in current booking instead.
There are huge complaints about SL coaches encroachment by UR / WL ticket holders. That's why I prefer to travel in 3A or 2A that too preferably in SUB only
Yeah. Will book in current booking or upgrade onboard by paying the difference if this ticket confirms. Just 3 SL coaches right next to GS is a recipe for disaster in terms of encroachment.
