Doubling of railway line will also be taken up: Kharge
Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has said widening work of the bridge across the Tungabhadra from Matmari in Karnataka and the Mantralayam Road in Andhra Pradesh for doubling the existing single line will be taken up in a week. Addressing a press conference after renaming the Narayanpet Road Railway Station as Saidapur Railway Station at Saidapur, on Saturday, Mr. Kharge said the project had already been included in the doubling work taken up on the 80-km stretch between Raichur and Guntakal, which was being executed by the Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., (RVNL).It was decided to transfer the 10-km railway line doubling work to South Central Railways from Matralayam Road to Matmari.
