To make it available if alternative sites are not feasible
The State government has said that if the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) does not find the two suggested alternative locations for a bullet train terminus at Kurla technically feasible, it will make available the originally proposed land at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
The State government will inform the Central government of this at a meeting scheduled in New Delhi next week to finalise the project plan. The State has also suggested that the terminus and the proposed International Financial

Services Centre (IFSC) project be integrated and built at the same site.
The Maharashtra government and the Ministry of Railways have been at loggerheads over the location for the terminus. While the Railways have insisted that the Mumbai station be constructed underground at BKC, the State had said the land was reserved for the IFSC much before the terminus was planned.
‘Merge both projects’
Now, however, the State government has written to the NHSRCL saying, “The government of Maharashtra had suggested two alternatives so the viability of the International Financial Services Centre Project is not adversely affected. However, if the alternative locations are not found technically feasible for the bullet train project, the original location suggested by the NHSRCL will be made available with suitable terms and conditions to ensue both projects are merged.”
Earlier, the NHSRCL had ruled out the prospect of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Railway (MAHSR) rolling into Kurla’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, which was suggested as an alternative by the State.
The MAHSR was sanctioned by the Indian government in December 2015 and is estimated to cost Rs. 1,08,000 crore. The 508-km railway line will have 12 stations, of which Mumbai, Thane, Virar and Boisar are in Maharashtra.
Assessments underway
The target date of completion for the project is August 2022. A general consultant has been appointed for the project, and the ground survey has also been completed, officials said.
“The geotechnical investigations are complete except in Palghar district. The environmental and social impact assessments and the detailed design are in progress,” a senior official told The Hindu .

It is reported that Maha state govt & MoR are at loggerheads over the issue of underground bullet train terminus at BKC. Underground BKC Bullet train connectivity shall be very helpful to the International Finance Service Centre proposed by Maha Govt. Since diamond quadrilateral of HST network is planned in long run, the BKC Bullet train terminal is likely to be connected to most of the major cities of India.

Large-scale Japanese investment in India has not quite materialised despite a recognisably high potential. The Japanese investors who are accustomed to clockwork precision have found India slothful and Indian infrastructure inefficiently-run and inadequate. There has been a tendency for Japan to look elsewhere. Now, however, with opportunities in China drying up due to saturation point having been reached and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the helm in Japan who is particularly well-disposed towards India, the Japanese are looking at this country somewhat indulgently.
The bullet train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai the work on which was launched formally on Abe’s two-day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday could trigger a new pace of co-operation between the two Asian

giants. The high-speed train, which on projected completion in 2022 would run 70 trips a day between the two cities would truly usher in a revolution of sorts. With 81 per cent of the cost to be met through a negligible 0.1 per cent interest loan from Japan to be paid after 50 years, and many industries typically expected to come up along the 500 km route the ‘bullet’ train which will run at an average speed of 250 kms would be followed by similar trains on several other key routes.
The government is currently reviewing the feasibility of six other High-Speed Rail Links. These are Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata, Mumbai-Chennai, Delhi-Chandigarh, Mumbai-Nagpur and Delhi-Nagpur. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed project is a joint venture between Indian Railways and Japanese firm Shinkansen Technology. The total estimated cost is Rs. 1.08 lakh crore of which the Japanese soft loan will cover 81 per cent. The Indian government has gone so far as to say that this loan was “tantamount to a grant.”
As part of the project, a dedicated High Speed Rail Training Institute is being developed in Vadodara and will become functional by end of 2020. Around 4000 staff members will be trained in this institute and they will be responsible for operation and maintenance of the ambitious project. This project is likely to generate employment for about 20,000 workers during the construction phase, who will be trained specialist to take up construction of such projects in India.
That such a project that would catapult India into a new age and is virtually free of interest on the loan is being criticised by sections of the Opposition is a clear example of how and why the Indian Opposition woefully lacks credibility. Had the Opposition welcomed the ushering in of the project and its terms, it would have looked responsible and forward-looking. But it has chosen a response which makes it look utterly anti-progress and obscurantist.

AHMEDABAD: Indian Railway has decided to stop train movement from September 15 on the meter gauge Sabarmati-Botad and Sabarmati-Ranuja tracks for gauge conversion work.
The tracks were approved for conversion in 2007 and later railway minister Mamata Banerjee had ordered a survey in 2010. The conversion will help cut travel time to Bhavnagar. "It is possible that trains starting from Porbandar would also run on the new Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar track via Botad. Currently, these trains take the Jamnagar-Rajkot-Viramgam route for Ahmedabad," said a railway official.
Four to five mail and express trains are likely

There were 2 MG intercity trains between ADI & Bhavnagar via Botad, i.e. Shetrunji Exp and its complementary express which have been discontinued as part of the route (Botad-Bhavnagar has been converted in to BG long back). The two trains shaould be introduced after guage conversion of ADI-Botad MG section.

Zyada trains is track se nahin jaayengi aur diverted to bahut hi kam kyunki tab tak Botad-Surendranagar-Ahmedabad track electrified hoga aur SUNR-ADI FEDL.
