The authorized entrance/exit point for this station is at only from plat form no 3. People do the exit and entrance from platform no 3 side which is unauthorized from railway and if any thing mishap to passenger from that side railway will not be responsible for that. (According to the Northern railway)
If you have to catch any train from Pathankot Cantt then please use main entrance and for Exit as well.

When alighting at PTKC, exit the station from the other side of the station opposite to platform 1 to reach pathankot cantt bus stop. You may have to cross the tracks to reach this side as it is not a properly laid path. This helps you avoid auto/cycle rickshaw. They charge Rs. 50-100 for the same trip from the rickshaw stand outside the station and take you to the same place to which you could've come by walk.

The line from Jalandhar City to Mukerian was constructed in 1915. The Mukerian-Pathankot line was built in 1952. The construction of the Pathankot-Jammu Tawi line was initiated in 1965, after the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, and opened in 1971.
Chakki Bank Railway Station was renamed Pathankot Cantonment Railway Station in 2013. Electrification work of the Jalandhar-Jammu line is on. As of 2010-11, around 100 km had been electrified. As of 2013, electrification was expected to be completed in about a year.
