The station reservation counter has facility of swipe machine to use for payment towards the ticket booking. It is very convenient. Not sure about list of stations which have this facility but having this at station like LPI is very helpful.
People coming by morning trains from Mumbai, Tirupati etc who get down at LPI, get to see auto drivers who charge too high. They asked for Rs. 120 from LPI to HUDA colony, Chandanagar at around 7AM. Bargaining was not successful. I walked a bit and from the LPI overbridge, I took another auto for Rs.40/-. Be aware not to pay more...

The HUDA colony I meant is at Chandanagar (edit my response). LPI to my place in Chandanagar is just around 2.5 KMS... The auto drivers are opportunistic. Its my experience considering my last 4 trips.
