Galaxy Lodge in Satara City is an ok hotel to stay. We took non AC room which costed 1100 + 300 for extra person. On our request, hot water was started as we reached hotel at 4 AM. Normally hot water is available from 6 AM onwards.
There is only 1 stall available at PF1 where one can get snacks like chips, water bottle, etc. No biscuit packet was available. Tea was being sold at Rs. 15/-
The main platform is PF1 where trains come in both directions. PF2/3 have a very low height and one will need some effort to get into train if train arrives on PF2/3. Our train 11029 came on PF3 and we had hard time to get into the train.

At Rajwada Chowk in Satara city, there are lot of options available to eat like, chinese, pani puri, bhel, dosa, paav bhaji, etc. One can also get ice creams, falooda, etc. at Rajwada chowk. The prices are reasonable as well.
The railway station is situated outside the city. The distance from city-centre and MSRTC Central Bus Stand is around 8 kms. There are autos available from city to station and back. Autos are metered, charging Rs. 20/- for the first 1.5 km and Rs. 14 for every extra km. Rickshaws have electronic meters.
