Source : click here Inaugurated as 940 Guwahati-Cochin weekly express on 10th April, 1987 from Guwahati station. By 1990, it was running as a superfast express maintained by Southern railway (2649). A few years later, it lost it's superfast status and was transferred to NFR ( At this time, the SBC-GHY, TVC-GHY and CHTS-GHY were all maintained by NFR and shared the same Time table).
