This train is running on pretty old rakes and you will feel pretty violent jerks throughout journey from Chennai to Mysore and onward journey as well, irrespective of SL or AC, the jerks are very high intensity. Pregnant ladies and people with other medical challenges - please avoid this train, if possible. I had complained online to Rlwys, they replied that the entire rake is old and needs to be changed. But, they never change it. Toilets stink badly, as this train is hardly cleaned and while approaching Chennai form Mysore, it takes nearly 50 mins to reach Chennai Central from Perambur junction.

One important tip is that board this train before 10pm bcoz after that people will sleep in the long seats.

I have booked SL tatkal for simhapuri 12710 from SC to CLX. Luckily my ticket upgraded to 3E. One of a frequent traveler beside my seat shares the same experience.

So, when you are booking tatkal, make sure you are keeping auto upgrade if available for this train. You have greater chances for upgradation
