Just they can Make some RSA type arrangements until Bijapur gets PM facilities..
What is the problem is diverting. Any way there are more then 4 trains run on Sur, RC, gtl. We don't have one also . Railways don't want to run any new train untill doubling is completed between sur-pune then diverting is the only option left
They have to divert one train from Mumbai to Chennai via bjp bgk gdg bay.

SWR can plan something like this: Start a SBC dep 1100 arr 2000 at Tambaram via Kanchipuram Chengalpattu. Start from TBM to Hubli/Shimoga by 2130 to cross KJM by around 0400 and proceed further. Return back as a day time train from Hubli/ Shimoga. Other one to start from SBC at 1100 to reach UBL by 1800 / 1700 to Shimoga and then to Chennai/ Tirupati via Ballari. Three days each from Shimoga and Hubli to Chennai. Tirupati also gets covered in this proposal.
First of all..unlike Hubli. Shimoga is very well connected with Chennai. All smet Trains have connecting trains to Chennai. People's still preferring connecting trains over direct due to high fare and same amount of time. Running to Chennai via tpty or tambaram is no solution as more people will avoid this train..
I am not suggesting SMET MAS via Renigunta. I am suggesting SMET MAS via YPR bypass with RSA as MAS UBL via Renigunta. This can give triweekly UBL MAS and triweekly SMET MAS.
I suggested Tambaram because SR can always reject train from SWR saying PF problem at MAS. To avoid, train can go to TBM or Chengalpattu either via Egmore or via Kanchipuram.
Point is that night train from UBL or SMET should reach Chennai before 8 AM.

UBL 15.55; GDG 16.55/17.00; GTL 20.45/55; GY 21.23/25; YA 23.22/24;
HX 00.07/12; RU 02.25/35; AJJ 03.49/51; MAS 05.10.

3h 20m between MAS RU is too slow
Instead ,it can start at 15.50 in the slot of MAS-LTT Weekly,atleast 50min can be speeded up

Even huge slack between Gadag Hubli as it showing 1 hr 53 min to cover just 58km .

It use to run as special, but never had WL in it... more or less with same TT... but now it has made tremendous success in terms of bookings... it has seriously made a good comeback...
I feel plus point is early arrival at Renigunta for TPTY pax
