AFAIK, ICF can go upto 26 coaches and LHB up to 24 coaches. This is the limit generally seen in IR. But I do not have any idea regarding any written rule for the same.

yes it is there..all icf are 24 and lhb are 22 coaches. only few trains are exception to this rule.

Tvc ltt Netravati express runs 23 LHB as well.

I meant passenger coaches and permanant coach composition. Netravati is 23 beacuse of Parcel van. Many trains have 22+ composition but most of them are either temporarily augmented coaches or Parcel vans or locked coaches being transported or additional locos. But Nagpur Duronto and Prayagraj Duronto are different than these as they have Permanant passenger coach composition of 23 and 24 coaches each
